It’s not the things that can be bought that are life’s richest treasures,
It’s just the little gifts from the heart that money cannot measure.
A cheerful smile, a friendly word, A sympathetic nod,
All priceless little treasures
from the storehouse of God.
– Helen Steiner Rice
I wanted to share this with you today because lately I do not come across many people with “heart gifts.” Its seems like everyone is caught up in their own little “me” world. I miss the days of sharing a smile with a complete stranger, the days when you broke down on the side of the road and someone actually stopped to notice and make sure you were okay. It saddens my heart that my children will never know the “friendly” world we use to live in. The change that can we make is within ourselves. Can you take a minute out of your rush-rush day to say an encouraging word to someone? To share a sympathetic look to let someone know you understand? What about you? Have you seen a change in today’s society? Leave a comment and share your thoughts...
